Guerin Catholic football riding high after 1
At 1 7, the Guerin Catholic High School football team could have easily lost its fire.
Instead, Golden Eagles coach Andrew Kremer said the team showed its mettle.
"We've had a lot of adversity and our kids have dealt with it tremendously," Kremer said. "Every game we'd look at the sideline and there Buy Viagra Over The Counter would be four, five or six starters sidelined. Toward the end of the year, we were lucky to get a little healthier."
The Golden Eagles have won four in a row, including a 24 20 victory over Indian Creek in the Class 3A Sectional 30 final.
The Golden Eagles (5 7) will play host to No. 7 Brebeuf Jesuit (9 3) in Friday's regional. The Braves topped Guerin Catholic 33 10 on Oct 4.
Guerin quarterback Michael Myers tore an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee on the second offensive play in that game. Kremer said backup QB Matt Labus was thrown into a tough spot but has performed well. Labus has completed 56.5 percent of his passes for 715 yards.
"Matt shows his mental toughness every game," Kremer said. "He's really a fierce competitor."
Kremer said after struggling in the opener against Martinsville, the defense has played well.
"The trouble we had defensively is they were spending too much time on the field and weren't getting help from the offense," Kremer said.
Although Guerin was held scoreless, Kremer said the offense began making strides and finding its identity in a 24 0 loss to 4A No. 4 Bishop Chatard on Oct. 11.
"We're Nandrolone Wholesale not a big play team that is getting 60 or 70 yard plays," Kremer said. "We're a team that has to maintain drives. We have to grind it out."
Kremer said it helps that the running backs are healthier now. Senior running back Drew Dehnke, who missed three games with a concussion, leads the team with 633 rushing yards. Junior fullback Evan Hansen also was out for four games with an injury earlier in the season.
In the past four games, Scecina's offense has been consistent, scoring 49, 49, 48 and 46 points in easy victories.

"That keeps the opponents from packing them in on us," Hurrle said.

"I know they have high expectations because they've been there before and done it before," Gilbert said. "But hopefully we'll be tough enough in the moment. They're a terrific program and our guys know that."
Shamrocks senior Nick Ferrer has completed 150 of 235 passes for 2,069 yards.
"He really directs the offense," Gilbert said. "He's accurate and delivers it on time. He doesn't force things. He's been amazing."
Senior receiver Devin Reese, a Ball State commit, has 59 catches for 862 yards.
